Located in the Coast Mountains of BC, Whistler Blackcomb is famous for its challenging terrain, animated village life and west-coast friendliness. Two mountains, Whistler and Blackcomb, rise up a mile out of the valley (5280 vertical feet) and access over 7,000 acres of prime mountain terrain. Although adjacent to each other, the terrain is very different. After a day's skiing and boarding at Whistler, experience some of the Village's non-stop nightlife, restaurants, shopping, and 'walk-to-lifts' accommodations. Known for dry Okanagan powder and plenty of sunshine, Silver Star offers over 2700 acres of varied terrain. The south facing Vance Creek area features gentle slopes and groomed cruisers, with a new six pack express chairlift. The Putnam Creek face features deep powder and challenging black and double black diamond terrain. Silver Star also boasts a 105 km network of cross-country skiing trails, used by Olympic cross-country teams. The village accommodations provide the comfort of ski-in/ski-out. Family and après-ski activities are available, as well as kids’ programs and daycare. Late June to late September, ride, bike, walk or skate the mountain paths. The hill has a vertical of 800 ft and the nine runs range from beginner to some expert. A T-bar services the main hill and a rope tow the beginner slope. Facilities include a day lodge, cafeteria and lounge, ski rental and a C.S.I.A. ski school.
