Weaver Creek Spawning Channel

This channel is a man-made extension of Weaver Creek. It provides a safe spawning place for salmon whose eggs cannot survive flooding. Many salmon do not survive well in a hatchery, thus the channel was constructed to increase salmon numbers which were on a severe decline. The channel raises Sockeye, Chum and Pink Salmon and is open every day from 8 am to 3:30 pm. Salmon run times vary, but normally the run begins in early October and ends in early November. Peaks numbers normally run from about October 15th to 25th.
