Besides exhilarating rafting trips in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Kootenay River Runners also offers the Voyageur Canoe Trip on the Columbia River. Guides take adventurers back to he time of the fur traders and birchbark canoes and enlighten them with stories of the past. Some of the wildlife regularly seen include bald eagles, ospreys, painted turtles, great blue herons, beaver, river otter, elk, bighorn sheep and deer.
